Bifidobacterium Longum

A class of bacteria known as bifidobacteria typically resides in the intestines. They are able to grow outside of the body and be consumed as medicine.

Bifidobacteria are used to treat a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, such as traveler’s diarrhoea in adults and avoiding diarrhoea in young children. Bifidobacteria is sometimes taken to replace “good bacteria” in the gut that have been destroyed or eliminated due to diarrhoea, radiation, chemotherapy, antibiotics, or other factors. Additionally, bifidobacteria are used to treat pouchitis, a condition that can occasionally arise following surgery for ulcerative colitis, as well as the bowel disease ulcerative colitis. Necrotizing enterocolitis in infants is a specific intestinal infection that some people utilise bifidobacteria to prevent.

Bifidobacteria can also be used to treat a skin issue.
